The relative ease of ascending to this thrilling elevation makes Cho Oyu an ideal primer to the more demanding 8000’ers like Dhaulagiri or Everest. Taking its name from a Tibetan phrase that translates to “Turquoise Goddess”, this classic peak lying along the Tibetan border was made to be climbed.
